Story:  A remake tale, the story is set on the backdrop of a village and here comes Pappu (sreejith) an adolescent boy for his vacation. This is his mother's village and here he chances upon his neighbour Rathy Chechy (shweta menon), a rather elderly and matured woman. In no time, Pappu gets attracted to Rathy and he tries to get close to her. Eventually, his attractions become filled with lust and what happens after that forms the rest of the story. Presentation:  The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was filled with efforts, the narrative was inconsistent. The dialogues were stable, the script was written with slight changes and the screenplay was sometimes superficial. Background score was nice but only one song was upto the mark. Cinematography captures the angles and the moments in the right manner. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were a mismatch of sorts while the art department deserves special appreciation for its efforts to bring natural look. Sreejith Vijay was good to the role and he has come up with the required innocence. Shweta Menon steals the limelight but then she was on the heavier side with more aggression than showing innocent sex appeal. Shammi Thilakan was standard, Maya Viswanathan was moderate, the two child artistes made their presence felt. Others didn't have much scope. Conclusion:  The film happens to be the remake of the yesteryears blockbuster hit with the same title. So, it is natural that comparisons will happen and that way, the remake doesn't match. However, one has to watch it like an independent film. The crucial factor for the film is Shweta Menon and if only she toned down her aggression and looked natural, it would have created more eroticism. The first half goes mildly while the second half breezes smoothly. At the box office, the initial hype and the sensuous promotion will draw crowds but it will be a profitable venture not a great success.
