Story: Set on the backdrop of the 80s, the story begins with Shiva (jiiva) a young and hot blooded man brought up with ideals. His greatest influence is his grandfather (prakash raj) who teaches him to fight against injustice at all costs. But then, Shiva's parents (jayaprakash, lakshmi) don't want him to get into any trouble. The story takes a turn with the arrival of Priya (shriya), daughter of a policeman (Babu Anthony). Shiva and Priya fall in love and enters the villain (ganesh acharya). As usual, the villains do their best to cause problems to Shiva and how he handles them forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with an illogical storyline and while the presentation was okay, the narrative was poor. The dialogues were good at places, the script was average while the screenplay was barely passable. Background score was okay and songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography was regular. Editing saw few scenes getting jumped. Costumes were natural while the art department was suiting the moods. Jiiva does carries the total film on his shoulders and he does his best to infuse life. Shriya looks pretty but she looked artificial at few points. Prakash Raj was effective. Ganesh Acharya was not used properly. Jayaprakash was a show stealer while Lakshmi was neat. The others didn't have much scope.
Conclusion: When storylines are predictable or hollow, it is important to have an engaging screenplay or pack it up with good comedy or entertainment quotient. Nothing happened here. While the first half is okay with the regular elements of comedy, romance and drama the second half goes completely haywire and in no time the audience begins to squirm in their seats. Overall, this is a proper masala film which has not got enough spice in it due to poor handling. At the box office, the film might appeal to hardcore front benchers but chance of success is very minimal.
